Kamakhya Pemton College celebrates 45th foundation day

Imphal, September 23 2026: The 45th foundation day celebration of Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang was held at the college today.

In connection with the foundation day celebration, Professor Maisnam Iboton Memorial Award 2026, was presented to the student of the college, Wahengbam Surkumar Meitei for scoring high marks in Economics subject in the BA examination conducted by Manipur University.

Apart from the above, the college also felicitated other meritorious students of the college for their outstanding academic achievements by presenting awards.

The programme held at the Leibaklei auditorium of the college was graced by Directorate of University and Higher Education Joint Director A Ramashankar Sharma; K P College Hiyangthang Governing Body president Thokchom Gopimohon; Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research Kolkata faculty Dr Indira Maisnam and Principal of the College, Dr Wahengbam Nimai Singh as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Speaking as the chief guest, A Ramashankar Sharma said that Kamakhya Pemton College is among the 17 Government aided colleges in Manipur which has been functioning smoothly and has been working for the welfare of the students.

Lauding the sincere efforts of the principal and faculty members of the college for their sincere efforts, he appealed to the students to focus on their studies by availing the various academics and related facilities provided by the college.
