Sambit meets BJP ministers, MlAs

Imphal, June 20 2021:
BJP national spokesperson and Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra spoke with ministers and MLAs of the party and recorded their opinions over the top post of the party in the state unit on Sunday.
Sambit Patra, who arrived here on Saturday, chaired a meeting with party MLAs at the CM's secretariat during which he discussed strategies for strengthening the party and the forthcoming state assembly election which is due next year.
The meeting also figured discussion on the necessity to fill up the vacant post of party's state president.
However, a source said that the meeting did not dwell on names of probable candidates for the post.
After the meeting, Sambit Patra also chaired another meeting of BJP Core Committee.
Later, he spoke with BJP ministers one by one at Classic Hotel and sought their opinions on the party president's post and strategies for emerging as the single largest party or getting absolute majority in the 2022 state assembly election.
Earlier in the morning, he visited Dharmasala where foods for Covid positive patients in CCCs are being prepared by Dharmasala and Bazar Community.
From there he visited Shri Shri Govin-dajee Temple along with works minister Th Biswajit and offered prayer there.
Later, he visited the residences of former BJP state president late S Tikendra and party leader late S Seityabhama, and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.
