The Manipur State Scouts Union (MSSU) has announced that Go vemor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has officially accepted the position of "Chief Scout" for the organisation.
This significant development follows a meeting between a delegation from the MSSU and the Governor today.
A 12-member team from the MSSU met with the Governor to discuss the future of the Scout movement in the State.
The delegation was led by State Scouts Commissioner Khaidem Hitler.
During the meeting, the Governor provided guidance and support for the development and expansion of the Scout movement throughout Manipur.
The MSSU, registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and affiliated with the All India Boy Scouts Association, New Delhi, is headquartered in Singjamei Wangma, Akampat.
The Scout movement has a long history in Manipur, beginning in 1925 during the reign of Maharaja Churachand.
Maharaja Budhachandra later became a patron member in 1947, and the movement has since flourished in the State.
