Entry of outsiders banned at Keirao Bitra after 8 pm

Imphal, January 13 2022: In view of the recent pre-poll violence in Keirao Bitra, Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Development Committee, Keirao Bitra has banned the entry of outsiders in the village after 8 pm to avoid unwanted incidents in future.

The above resolution was taken in a public meeting held at Keirao Bitra Laibung today presided by T Joy Meetei, president of the committee.

Speaking on the occasion, Heikham Jadhumani condemned the firing incident at the houses of the two residents of the locality at the night of January 11 and 13 and above all some miscreants pelted stones at one of the resident's house.

Terming such incidents as really unfortunate, he stated that such acts are aimed at disrupting the peaceful environment and appealed to all concerned to clarify on the matter at the earliest.

He further appealed to all to strictly adhere to the ban imposed in the interest of all and to inform the committee for any emergency cases.

The ban of entry of outsiders will be in effect till the conduct of the election, he added.

Also he urged the Police to take up preventive measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
