TPR crosses 7pc, 150 newly infected

Imphal, October 10 2021: The state continues to face the threat of Covid-19 as the daily positivity rate picked up on Sunday with government bulletins reporting 150 new positive cases out of 2020 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 7.43 per cent against Saturday's 6.59 per cent.

Meanwhile, after witnessing zero death on Saturday, three new fatalities were reported on Sunday which took the cumulative number of fatalities to 1885 .

The victims were from Thoubal, Bishnupur and Ukhrul districts and none had received Covid vaccines.

The active caseload rose to 1729 out of which 216 (13.49 per cent) are in home isolation.

As of Sunday evening, 548 beds including 103 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.

There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities.

So far, the state has recorded 92,603 positive cases and 1511 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 957 new cases and 23 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.

The current month has recorded 1419 new cases and 30 fatalities.

According to official reports, the 150 new positive cases included 149 people (78 male & 71 female) from among the general population and one jawan of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were detected at RIMS (9), JNIMS (12) and other testing centres (129) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (38), Imphal West (61), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (12), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (9), Chandel (1), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (1) and Kamjong (13) .

All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the last 24 hours, 134 patients were discharged from home isolation (42), RIMS (6), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (76) .

The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,22,003 (general population -1,17,699 and CAPF personnel - 4,304) .

Number of recovered cases is 1,18,389 (general population - 1,14.108 and CAPF personnel - 4,281) and number of active cases is 1,729 (general population - 1,711 and CAPF personnel - 18) .

The recovery rate is 97.04 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1033 D-type and 159 B-type Oxygen cylinders were distributed to different health facilities.

Only 5796 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,30,951 including 5,39,798 fully vaccinated individuals.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,282), Imphal East (26,981), Thoubal (9380), Churachandpur (10,088), Kangpokpi (2767), Tamenglong (3270), Bishnupur (9077), Senapati (2213), Ukhrul (2821), Kakching (6359), Chandel (2303), Noney (1064), Tengnoupal (1047), Jiribam (1020), Kamjong (884) and Pherzawl (447) .

Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (628), Imphal East (444), Thoubal (172), Churachandpur (159), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (189), Senapati (10}, Ukhrul (37), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,318 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,313 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 4,27,033 tests per million population against the national average of 4,16,963 TPM.

Case fatality rate rose to 1.55 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, only 2020 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 7.43 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.21 per cent.
