TPR crosses 4 pc, 72 new cases detected

As the third wave of Covid-19 hits the country, the state is also witnessing continuous rise in daily positivity rate with Monday registering 4.14 per cent positivity rate by reporting 72 new positive cases out of 1741 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Friday reported 2.44 per cent, Saturday 3.13 per cent and Sunday 3.57 per cent positivity rate but the daily test rate hovers around 2000 samples.
No death case was reported on Monday and the fatality toll remains at 2011 .
With the discharge ofl2 patients from home isolation (5), RIMS (1) and CCCs (6)in the last 24 hours and addition of 91 cases as 'discharged but pending for update', the active caseload dropped to 438 out of which 123 (28.08 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, eight reported fresh Covid cases on Monday, another disturbing trend as positive cases used to be detected in only 3-4 districts about a week back.
So far, the state has recorded 96,828 positive cases and 1637 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 440 new positive cases and ,9 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and fatalities has also risen to 385 and 7 respectively.
According to official reports, 57 people (27 male & 30 female) out of the 72 new cases are from among the general population and 15 personnel from Central Armed Police Force.
(CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (66).The positive cases among the general population are from Imphal East (10), Imphal West (36), Thoubal (3), Kamjong (1), Tamenglong (2), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (2) and Churachandpur (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,26,228 (general population - 1,21,732 and CAPF personnel - 4,496) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,779 (general population - 1,19,345 and CAPF personnel - 4,434) and number of active cases is 438 (general population - 381 and CAPF personnel - 57) .
The recovery rate is 98.06 per cent.
A total of 186 D-type and 98 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, only 928 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 13,41,185 of which 10,07,949 have been fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,309), Imphal East (28,053), Thoubal (9531), Churachandpur (10236), Kangpokpi (2799), Tamenglong (3287), Bishnupur (9260), Senapati (2271), Ukhrul (3020), Kakching (6465), Chandel (2374), Noney (1082), Tengnoupal (1079), Jiribam (1039), Kamjong (959) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (675), Imphal East (481), Thoubal (179), Churachandpur (163), Kangpokpi (63), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (195), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (45), Kakching (116), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,679 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 25,494 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,76,527 tests per million population against the national average of 4,93,756 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1741 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 4.14 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.54 per cent.
