Social service, health camp organised

Imphal, June 09 2024:
The Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK), Kanglei Keithel Ima Lup (KaKIL) and Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Co-ordinating Committee for Peace on Sunday conducted a social service & health camp at Ima Keithel Marisuba (Temporary Market), Imphal.
The camp was organised in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) and SIMS, Porompat.
During the camp, a medical team led by JNIMS Director, Dr Laishram Deven provided free health examination/consultation to the women vendors of Temporary market.
The medical team also provided various services including free screening of high blood pressure (BP) & diabetes, blood tests, urine tests and hepatitis screening.
Earlier, as a precautionary measure to combat possible outbreak of water borne diseases due to the recent flood, bleaching powder and Phenyl were sprinlded at the drainage and surrounding areas of the Temporary Market.
Moreover, in a bid to help the people affected by the recent flood, Institute of Liver & Digestive Sciences (ILDS), Kwakeithel conducted a free medical camp at Lairikyengbam Mayai Leikai community hall today.
Around 200 individuals were examined for various health care concerns during the camp by a medical team led by Dr N Surajkumar, Managing Director, ILDS.
Free medicines were also distributed to the patients.
