Advocate reminds authorities to open Court at Jiribam

Advocate cum social worker, Jiribam A Surendrakumar submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and Minister for law and Legislative Affairs Manipur regarding the opening of District and Sessions Court at Jiribam.
Speaking to a team of media persons at Uripok Panchai Maning, A Surendrakumar said that had also submitted a memo to the Central and the State Government in 2014, regarding the matter.
He claimed that the Central Government had granted the permission to open District and Sessions Court at Jiribam with other subordinate court in the district.
Following that, the Prime Minister and Ministry of Law & Justice of India notified, on February 2017, the State Government and Registrar General of Manipur High Court and the Minister of Law and Justice, concerned to set up the said judicial home at Jiribam, he said adding the matter was intimated to him as well.
In this regard, he urged the Chief Minister and Minister for Law & Legislative Affairs Manipur to look into the matter but no actions have been taken up till date.
He said that District & Sessions Judge at locations which are close to Imphal like Bishnupur, Thoubal, Senapati, Ukhrul, Chandel, Churachandpur however, the authority concerned failed to set up the judicial home at Jiribam.
Seeking immediate attention of the State Government, he appealed to the Govt to open the said court for the welfare of the people in Jiribam.
