The Observance Committee on Free Educational Zone (FEZ) has adopted seven resolutions for the facilitation of making Education a Free Zone yesterday during the one-day academic discussion held at CC Higher Secondary School.
According to a release handed out by the convenors, Ch Santakumar and M Joykumar, the participants of the discussion resolved to entrust the 'free zone' coordination committee, constituted by 15 teachers' organisations and three students' organisations, in taking up free zone programmes.
Among others, the meet also resolved to frame appropriate education policy for Manipur, in order to enable students of the state get the benefits of education.
To include moral education in the curriculum, to encourage teachers, parents and students' organisations to impart and give emphasis on moral education; to pressurise the government not to harass teachers and arrest of students; to urge for the immediate end of the practice of monetary demands by armed organisations; and to constitute a neutral body to solve the conflict situation of Manipur are the resolutions adopted during the academic discussion.
The academic discussion session was attended by various teachers, students, and academicians.
