All India Shiksha Sangharsh Yatra 2014 to be flagged-off today

Imphal, November 03 2014: All India Shiksha Sangharsh Yatra-2014 organized by All India Forum for Rights to Education with the goal to create awareness to the people of northeast on roles which need to be taken up to bring common education system in the country, will be flagged-off from the head office of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) inside DM College Campus tomorrow.

Addressing a press meet here at Manipur Press Club in this regard, Prof Anil Satta Gopal, president of Steering Committee, All India Forum for Rights to Education pointed out that the country is witnessing commercialization of private schools by suppressing government schools which needs to be rectified.

He asserted that equality in education would be attained only after there is uniformity in education system.

Saying that the rally is to be organized throughout the country including all the northeastern States, he maintained that meaningful meetings would be held in different districts of the northeastern States during the coverage of the rally to discuss threadbare the present education system.

He also said that memorandums would be submitted to the concerned authorities after holding the meetings.

Surjit Thokchom, Executive Member of All India Forum for Rights to Education was also present during the meet.
