Jiribam, July 03 2020:
The Shramik Special Train which departed Mumbai carrying stranded Manipuris arrived at Jiribam Railway Station today at 5.10 pm with 105 passengers.
Strictly following SOP, the returnees were transported to their respective district quarantine centres by buses, arranged by the Government.
The regular route passing Dibong Khunou Khun was blocked by womenfolk of the village and the buses had to be diverted to Railway road to reach National Highway 37.Y Ragini, a resident of Dibong Khunou, said the buses were denied passage through their village road because the passengers keep discarding empty water bottles, hand gloves and other garbage while passing their village even after repeated appeals.
It may also be mentioned here that the villagers yesterday submitted a written representation to the Deputy Commissioner regarding this issue and to instruct the buses to use the Railway road instead of their village road.
