Imphal, October 01 2011:
While expressing serious concern over the inactive response of the state government on the incident of suspected Kuki militants threatening students of Chil Chil Theological Seminary at Kanglatongbi by firing gunshots telling them to go away from there, the ZYF (AMN) in a press release today strongly condemned the incident and warned the militants not to repeat such act in future which might lead to unwanted situations.
The press release also expressed their resentment over the government for doing nothing regarding the incident even as the incident that occurred on September 24 was published in many leading local dailies based in Imphal.
Even though no one was injured in the incident, the act of firing in public places and threatening innocent people is an act of terror with deliberate act of intimidation and attempt to create fear psychosis, ZYF alleged.
While expressing suspicion of allowing the Kuki militant groups under the Suspension of Operation (SoO) to carry out such terror acts freely in order to disturb peaceful atmosphere by the government, ZYF alleged that no perpetrator has been arrested so far and the security forces tried to nab them even though the place where the incident occurred is near an Army HQ.
While demanding the government to punish the culprits under the law within 24 hour by asking the Kuki UG groups to produce, the press release further stated that the government will be responsible for any unwanted incidents arise out of any such future incidents.
