Nine UG cadres arrested from all over the state

Imphal, February 15 2012:
At least nine cadres of different proscribed UG groups have been arrested by Security Forces from different parts of the state during the past 36 hours.
A team of 109 CRPF led by AC Nareshkumar, who was on duty to guard EVMs arrested two SS Lt of NSCN-IM from near the Mini Stadium, Senapati in the night of February 14 at around 9.15 pm.
The arrested NSCN-IM cadres were identified as Athisii (30) son of Lohrii from Chawanamei Khunou and Thono (29) son of Nano of Liyai Khunou.
One 9mm pistol and three live rounds were recovered from the duo.
In another incident, Imphal West CDO arrested one SS Lt of PLA from Singjamei Bazar area on February 13 at around 6.20 pm.
He was identified as Kharibam Mangoljao alias Robindro alias Wangamba (44) son of Kh Chaoba of Thongju Nameirakpam Leikai.
He joined PLA in June, 1996 and received Basic Military Training.
Meanwhile, a press release of SP, Imphal East stated that a combined team of Imphal East CDO and 30 Assam Rifles arrested two PLA cadres namely Elangbam Surchandra alias Khanganba (32) son of E Nitai of Pukhao Naharup Makha Leikai and Ngangom Premkumar alias Lemba (29) son of Ng Chaoba of Keikon Maning Leikai from Nilakuthi area on February 14 at around 10.30.Two Mobile handsets (nokia and byond) and six live rounds of M16 rifles were recovered from the two cadres.
On verification, Surchandra disclosed that he joint PLA in August 2008 through one Leilangba and was trained in Myanmar under army no 3153.He is now holding the rank of SS Lance Corporal.
On the other hand, Premkumar disclosed that he joint PLA in 2007 through one SS Maj Temba and was trained in Myanmar under army no 2925.He is holding the rank of SS Lance Corporal at present.
They were working under the command of SS 2nd Lt Jayanta.
On the same day at around 12.30 pm as per the revelation of Surchandra, two more cadres of PLA were held from Paona Keithel and Uripok Tourangbam Leikai.
They were identified as Maibam Dhanabir (47) son of M Nipamacha of Mayang Imphal Thana Mamang and Sanjembam Sunita alias Lemchang Chanu (27) daughter of S Bomcha of Soto Dumai, Bangladesh.
One mobile phone (Samsung), four Press Release notes, two diaries, three live rounds of M16 rifles and one hand bag were recovered from their possession.
On verification, Maibam Dhanabir disclosed that he is an active member of PLA while Sunita disclosed that she joint PLA in 2003 through one SS Capt Chaothoi and was trained in Myanmar under army no 2717.She is holding the rank of SS Sgt at present.
They also disclosed that they were involved in lobbing grenades and firing to the houses of Congress candidates and workers and extortion activities from general public, government officials and businessmen.
Further on the same day, Imphal East CDO arrested one kidnapper namely Md Ajmal Shah (36) son of Md Amjad Shah of Kshetrigao Keikhu Mamang Leikai from Keikhu Kshetrigao area at around 1 pm and rescued one Non-Manipuri namely Pankaj Janardhan Salian (26) son of Janardhan Khongapa Salin of Hemade Chol, Bhimnagar, Virtaka Nagar, Thane, Mumbai.
In yet another incident, a combined team of Imphal East CDO and 28 Assam Rifles arrested two cadres of KCP (KK Nganba) from Kongpal Iranfam area at around 4.20 pm.
They were identified as Phijam Rainson alias Amutombi alias Tayai Meite (18) son of Ph Ibungobi of Pungdongbam Makha Leikai and Sapam Thoinaoba alias Surendra (20) son of S Ibohanbi of Sekta Makha Leikai.
One Chinese hand grenade was recovered from their possession.
On verification, they disclosed that they joined KCP (KK Nganba) in 2011 through one Koktang of Sekta and presently working under ne Lairenlakpa.
They also disclosed that they were involved in extortion of money from general public, government officials and businessment and transportation of arms and ammunitions from one place to another, the press release added.
