Governor reviews prep, MST to operate bus service

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Thursday chaired the second meeting of the Shirui Lily Festival, 2025 Organising Committee at the conference hall of Raj Bhavan, here.
In a release PRO Raj Bhavan informed that the meeting featured extensive discussion to ensure the seamless conduct of the festival, addressed relevant aspects such as budget allocation, event scheduling, security measures, transportation, crowd management, infrastructure development, accommodation arrangements, cultural programming, promotional strategies, and interdepartmental coordination.
Chief secretary, DGP, commissioners, secretaries, secretary to the Governor, deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, and representatives of the festival organising committee attended the meeting, among others.
The festival is organised annually to celebrate the state flower Shirui Lily and its rich cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, Transport director Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam has announced dedicated Manipur State Transport (MST) bus service from Imphal to Ukhrul from May 20 to 24 for transportation of participants/visitors, etc., for the upcoming festival.
A public notice issued by the director specified that three buses will ply between ISBT, Khuman Lampak/Imphal East and Shirui Public Ground, Ukhrul.
MST buses will leave ISBT for Shirui Public Ground at 7 am (MN01BA 0408), 8 am (MN01B 0409), and 8.15 am (MN01BA0070), and depart from Ukhrul at 1.30 pm, 2 pm, and 2.30 pm respectively.
Informing that the bus fare will be Rs 200, the director said passengers may avail/book the tickets for the dedicated MST bus service to participate/attend the Shirui Festival, 2025 from ticket counters at ISBT and MST office or conductor of the bus on the same day.
