Mass vaccination programmes continue across state

Imphal, July 05 2021: Manipur Legislative Assembly deputy speaker and Mayang Imphal MLA K Robindro on Monday launched a mass vaccination drive at Mayang Imphal Bengoon.

The drive organised jointly by clubs, organisations, religious leaders, Mayang Imphal Municipal Council councillors from seven Muslim polling stations of Bengoon under the aegis of the MLA was held at Madrassa Majahur Ullum, Mayang Imphal Bengoon.

On the first day of the vaccination programme, people over the age of 18 years from polling stations 23/23 and 23/24 areas were vaccinated.

Maibam Uchiwa Gram Panchayat, CMO Kakching, Ema Hospital Kakching, YSODA Club and UWPWC Club also jointly conducted a mass vaccination programme at Uchiwa Wangma Punshi Bazar for denizens of Maibam Uchiwa GP Kakching CD Block.

Saina Institute of Medical Sciences and MAMI TV under the aegis of CMO Imphal East also organised a vaccination programme at Kusum Oil Pump, Konung Mamang, a release by Saina Institute of Medical Sciences MD Dr S Kumar said.

Similarly, District Health Society, Kakching in collaboration with Kakching Khu-nyai Leikai Covid Task Force organised a mass vaccination programme at Shree Shree Radha Madhop Mandir Man-dop, Kakching Khunyai Leikai on Monday.

During the programme, Urban Primary Health Centre Kakching Wairi vaccination team led by district immunisation officer Dr Kesho Singh Moirangthem and UPHC Kakching Wairi MO in charge Dr Pukhrambam Robin vaccinated 660 people.

District Health Society and Citizens' Association for Rural Development (CARD) Wabagai conducted a Covid-19 mass vaccination at Wabagai Keirak Leirak Achouba for the fourth time on Monday, during which 220 people were inoculated against Covid-19 .

Super Star Club, Thoubal Awang Leikai also hosted a mass vaccinated programme under the joint aegis of district administration of Thoubal and Thoubal MLA.

A total of 151 individuals were vaccinated during the programme held on Monday.

In Bishnupur district, Covid Task Force and CSOs concerned carried out mass vaccination camps at various places on Monday.

Wangoo GP pradhan Amom Bina Devi and Wangoo Covid Task Force under the supervision of Wangoo Borayangbi Zilla Parishad member and 29-Kumbi Covid-19 Awareness cum Enforcement Committee chairman M Brojen organised a mass vaccination programme for the people of Ward no.7 to 12 at Ahalup Mayai Leikai community hall.

During the camp, hand sani-tisers and face masks were also distributed among the people who came to get vaccinated.

The vaccination programme was attended by PHC Kumbi MO in-charge Dr Kh Bishorjit and staffof Health and Wellness Centre, Wangoo along with ASHA and Anganwadi workers and club volunteers.

On the other hand, Moirang Kendra Apunba Meira Paibi Ima Lup (MAMPIL) in association with 31 Assam Rifles organised a vaccination programme at Moirang municipal council ward no.10 Moirang Khoiru Leikai Mandop, wherein 180 people were vaccinated.
