Imphal, April 29 2016 :
Responding to the allegations made by one
Lenkhohao Mangte, the KNO/KLA has today
issued a clarification stating that the
chieftainship for Kulbung village was trans-
ferred according to the Kuki customary law to
Seikam Mangte, the eldest of the family and the
rightful chief since the village inception on Oc-
tober 23, 2015 from Lenkhohao Mangte with
due endorsement from KNO/KLA, KIC, Seitel
Area Chief Association and Samulamlan Area
Chief Association.
The chieftainship issue of Kulbung vil-
lage, Churachandpur was taken up by the
organisation's customs court in 2013.
Lenkhohao Mangte, according to the state-
ment, neglected all the invitations made by
the outfit's court.
On April 27, the organisation, when they
learned that Mangte was at Churachandpur
CJM Court, deputed members seeking him
to appear before the organisation.
Instead of
heeding the call, Mangte filed a complaint
with the police.
The decision to transfer the chieftainship
of Kulbung village to Seikam Mangte was
made according to the Kuki Customary law KNO stated.
It has further appealed to the
Court as well as other organisations to accept their decision.
