Orientation programme on youth leadership, development kicks off

A 3-day orientation programme on 'Youth Leadership & Development' was inaugurated today at Moirang College multipurpose hall.
The orientation programme is being held with an objective to provide youths of Manipur the ability to analyze their strengths and weaknesses, set personal and vocational goals, and promote self-esteem, confidence, and motivation at this critical juncture of the State.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college is organising the orientation programme with the support of the Centre for National and International Collaboration, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, under the scheme of training programme on youth development issues in collaboration with State/Central Universities/National Institutions in India.
The inaugural programme was graced by Professor N Nimai, Controller of Examinations, Manipur University(MU); Moirang College Principal Dr Md Rahejuddin Sheikh and alumni of Moirang Cpllege and former Associate Professor Y Modhu as the presidium members while Professor Vasanthi Rajendran, Head of the Centre for Training Orientation and Capacity Building, RGNIYD virtually attended the programme.
Around 200 students of the college are attending the 3-day orientation programme.
In the technical session of the programme, eminent speakers including Dr Dhanabir Laishram social activist; Professor Chand Babu, Registrar MU; N Chetan, research scholar of Department of Teacher Education MU and Professor N Nimai spoke on various topics on youth leadership and development.
