Imphal, January 25 2023: Altogether 20 police officers/personnel have been awarded the President's Police Medel for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Gallantry, Police Medal for Meritorious Service and Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Police Training on the occasion of Republic Day, 2023 .

Meanwhile, Phurailatpam Hemolata has been accorded the President Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service 2023 on the occasion of Republic Day.

Hemolata, w/o Kakchingtabam Sunil of Singjamei Top Leikai, is a Civil Defence Instructor (Junior) .

According to press release issued by the Police department, Christopher Doungel (ADGP {Mod} Manipur now DGP (P) & MD-MPHC Ltd Manipur), has been awarded the President Police Medal for Distinguished Service while Inspector Gunachandra Chanam and Head Constable Hijam Eshworchandra have been given the Police Medal for Gallantry.

Police officers/personnel who have been conferred the Police Medal for Meritorious Service are S Gautam Singh (SP/Vig & Anti-Corruption Manipur), Th Gojen Singh (Dy.SP/CIB{SB}), Konthoujam Bobby (Inspector NAB now Vig & Anti-Corruption, Manipur), AK Bhogendro Singh (Subedar), Sanasam Raju Singh (Subedar), Konjengbam Priyojit Singh (Jemadar), M Parpa Chothe (Head Constable CIB {SB}), S Joychandra Meetei, Head Constable now ASI.

Maibam Babu Meitei (Subedar), Potsangbam Robert Singh (Subedar), Lukram Lenin Meetei (Havildar) and Kongbrailatpam Premsunder Sharma (Rifleman) have been given the Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Police Training.

The other recipients of President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service are Achin Haokip (IGP{AP-II}) and Amarnath Sharma SDPO Lamphel while officers and personnel who got the Police Medal for Meritorious Service are Gurumayum Geetanjali Devi (Inspector), Sachin Raj (Havildar) and Khanglanmei Kamei (Havildar) .
