Gas agencies refute allegation of duping public with promise of gas connection

Imphal, May 21 2024: Athokpam Indane Gas Agency has refuted allegations raised by the public that LPG gas agencies have swindled money from people with the promise of getting them gas connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).

Addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club today on behalf of State gas agencies, O Budhi, proprietor, Athokpam Indane Gas Agency clarified that under PMUY, the gas agencies have continued to give free gas connections to the beneficiaries and have never charged people for the gas connections, he said.

He further said that the miscreants involved in duping the common people under the guise of getting them PMUY gas connections are intent on defaming the gas agencies and thus appealed for swift booking of the culprits.
