Assam Rifles, Indian Army celebrate Easter across State

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), joined local communities in celebrating Easter Sunday at multiple locations across Chandel District, including Joupi, Changpol, Molcham under Khengjoi Sub-Division and the Oriental Children Home at Hringphe village today.
At Khengjoi Sub-division, personnel participated in Easter services and festivities alongside residents of Joupi, Changpol, and Molcham.
The day began with prayer services in village churches, followed by cultural performances featuring choral music and traditional dances by school children, said the IGAR (South) in a release.
Various games and community activities added to the festive spirit, reinforcing Easter's themes of hope and renewal.
Assam Rifles personnel reiterated their support for peace and unity, acknowledging the strength and resilience of the local communities.
At Oriental Children Home in Hringphe village, Assam Rifles celebrated Easter with 90 children and 16 staff members.
The occasion included prayers, light refreshments and shared moments of joy.
The institution's staff expressed appreciation for the continued engagement and goodwill shown by Assam Rifles.
These Easter celebrations reflect Assam Rifles' ongoing efforts to strengthen mutual respect, peace, and understanding across communities in Manipur, said a statement of IGAR (S).
Meanwhile, the Indian Army celebrated Easter in Makhan, P Moulding, Chingmang and New Cannan villages of Manipur as part of its commitment towards community engagement and inclusive celebrations, said PRO (Defence Wing) in a release.
The event witnessed interactions and distribution of sweets among villagers, fostering a spirit of togetherness and goodwill.
This celebration shared the joy of Easter, a festival symbolising hope, renewal and compassion, while reinforcing bonds of trust and harmony.
Residents of all age groups participated with enthusiasm making the event a memorable one.
The village headmen expressed their gratitude to the Army.
