The two-day National Conference on MedEngage: Uniting Clinicians and Engineers for Biomedical Innovation (MedEngage: UCEBI-2026) successfully concluded today at Banting Hall, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
The event significantly advanced interdisciplinary collaboration in biomedical research and healthcare technology, following an inverted pyramid structure for information delivery.
The conference, jointly organised by the National Institute of Technology Manipur, National Institute of Technology Haryana, and RIMS, brought together clinicians, engineers, researchers, academicians, innovators, and students to explore key areas like biomedical innovation, AI in healthcare, affordable technologies, and rural health solutions.
Keynote speakers emphasized the importance of clinician-engineer partnerships in addressing critical health challenges such as infectious diseases, NCDs, trauma care, and the digital health transformation.
The focus was on translational research, industry collaboration, start-up incubation, and student-driven innovation.
In the valedictory session, dignitaries resolved to continue MedEngage as an annual platform.
They also committed to strengthening interdisciplinary research networks, promoting joint academic programs, and advancing innovation-driven healthcare aligned with national missions, integrating medical expertise with engineering innovation for transformative impact.
