Bishnupur, June 18 2021:
In view of increasing number of COVID-19 patients in need of hospitalisation in the district, a second 100-bedded COVID Care Centre (CCC) set up for the district at Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong has been inaugurated on Friday by SDO (Bishnupur) Momoni Doly and Dr Chongtham Gunita in the presence of DC (Bishnupur) Krishna Kumar.
After formally opening the CCC, DC Krishna Kumar said that as the capacity of the first CCC located at Loukoipat cannot accommodate the ever increasing referrals of COVID-19 positive cases, it was decided to open the second Ningthoukhong facility and the same will start operation with immediate effect.

There is also plan to dispatch mobile vaccination team to different corners of the district after giving prior information to the people.
The second focus is on testing as well as random testing in hot spot areas, bazar and other congested areas, he maintained.
The DC also thanked the CMO and his team for their dedicated service as well as other line departments for their relentless effort in fighting the pandemic.
The district already has a 55-bedded CCC at Loukoipat, 20 dedicated beds for COVID patients at District Hospital isolation ward and three beds at High Dependency Unit of District Hospital.
