Yoga training and awareness events conducted at Chandel, Ukhrul

In the run-up to the 15 th International Yoga Day, Assam Rifles conducted a two-week training capsule for training of soldiers at Modi in Chandel district.
The initiative was aimed at promoting the benefits of yoga and saw participation from over 50 personnel, said a statement issued by IGAR (S).
The training encompassed lectures on the benefits of yoga, an introduction to basic asanas, and guidance on incorporating yogic practices into daily routines to enhance training acumen.
The event culminated in a mass yoga demonstration, which inspired and motivated the troops to adopt yoga for a healthier lifestyle.
In conjunction with this training, Assam Rifles also conducted a lecture on the importance of yoga in Tusom CV village, Ukhrul on June 9.This lecture highlighted the historical and spiritual significance of yoga as an Indian practice that dates back to prehistoric times.
Emphasizing that yoga is more than just physical exercise, the lecture explored its role in self-realization and the mind-body connection.
The villagers learned how incorporating yoga into daily life can bring greater harmony, reduce agitation, and foster a calm, meaningful, and focused way of living.
The event in Tusom CV village aimed to enlighten the community about the known and hidden benefits of yoga for the body, mind, and spirit.
The villagers expressed their gratitude and requested further lectures on similar life-enhancing subjects, added the statement.
