Imphal, September 08, 2009:
All Manipur Tribal Union (AMTU) has conveyed its grave concern over the ongoing crisis of the state to the Chief Minister while telling the Chief Minister that the security forces of the state have assumed the infamous roles of Nazis and Mississippi policemen.
In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, AMTU president DP Panmei and general secretary Romeo Bongdon stated that fake encounters and killings are overtaking socio-economic affairs in Manipur because people lack proper knowledge of education and civilization.
The people of Manipur are wrongly educated to prosper at the cost of someone's life, the AMTU memorandum stated.
The memo proposed to the CM that the state Home department should immediately open re-enactment course for the state security forces by appointing Dr..SIbocha, IPS, who is highly qualified in police methodology, as the head of the institute/course.
It stated that he is also trustworthy of appointing him as Special Home Secretary.
The statement shared that social education of the people of Manipur from the grass root level be imparted in order to facilitate a change on the impending drastic behavioral manners.
This policy must also be enacted in schools, colleges and universities as an extra curriculum.
It added that no one would bother to change the condition of the state if the people do not intend to change.
