Birjit Mangang's short story book released

Imphal, June 22 2014:
A short story book in Manipuri titled,"Makhoisu Thawai Panbani" written by Sadokpam Birjit Mangang was released at the Literary Hall of Hueiyen Lanpao Daily at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai here today.
Organized by Nongchup Haram Khorjei Lup (NAHAKHOL), Yurembam; the book release function was attended by Dr..LMahabir Singh, Joint Director of Language Planning and Implementation, Government of Manipur and NAHAKHOL President Gouro Thongamcha attended as chief guest and president respectively, while Dr.Saratchandra Longjamba, Assistant Professor of Manipuri, DM College of Arts was present as guest of honour.

The book is composed of 13 short stories on a variety of themes, which may be helpful in fostering good ideas in the society, the writer Birjit Mangang stated during the function, and added that the book also includes story on the impact of deforestation as its theme and giving message to the people to plant two saplings while cutting down one tree.
Saying that 'a story in the book depict the differences between the life of a greedy person who cherishes to earn money through unfair means and the life of another living with reasonable thoughts, Dr.Saratchandra Longjamba appreciated the style of composition of the writer and expressed hope that the book would be an important contribution to Manipuri Literature.
He observed that writers have the freedom to express their thoughts in whatever way they want, and a number of writers with new styles of writing have cropped up now.
"Makhoisu Thawai Panbani" was the 116th publication of NAHAKHOL and 2nd book of the writer, whose earlier short story book being "Eina Lanna Lourure" .
