Gift exchanged for Gaan-Ngai

As part of the ongoing Gaan-Ngai celebration, All Manipur Ethno Socio Cultural Organization (AMESCO), United Club NH 37 and Kangchu Ramji Kabui Khul jointly organized a gift exchange programme at Ramji Kabui Khul today.
The programme was attended by R Beni Chiru, president of AMESCO; S Nando, president-designate of AMESCO; Kabungba Gangmei, village leader of Ramji Kabui Khul; Ganguirung Gangmei, village Chief, Ramji Kabui Khul; Th Iboyaima, president of Irabot Foundation; Memchoubi, president of Poirei Leimarol; Dr Mani Khuman, president of AMUCO; P Gunachandra Sharma, president of Nat Kanba Lup; S Romita, vice-president of AMOWAVA and Mohendro, United Club as Presidium Members.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganguirung Gangmei observed that people should nurture and preserve their own culture.
He also underlined the need for active participation of people in traditional and cultural programmes of different communities for better cordial relationship amongst them.
He noted that the Kabui Samiti was formed under the instruction of Hijam Irabot.
LS Guite, advisor of AMESCO who was also present on the occasion, said AMESCO came into existence in 1992 and since then it has been working for the betterment and welfare of the society and called upon the people to possess the thinking of oneness and strive hard for development of the State.
As part of the programme, cultural dances of Kabui community were performed.
