ATMA organises awareness campaign on preventive care of COVID-19 at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, June 11 2020:
The All Tangkhul Medicos Association (ATMA) organised a one-day awareness campaign on precautionary measures to prevent spreading of COVID-19 as well as to treat suspected persons at home effectively.
Dr Kasomhung Soreingam who is a president of ATMA expressed that the district level awareness campaign aims at allaying the fear of the public regarding coronavirus.
He highlighted the importance of maintaining the safety rules by every individual in order to prevent infection or transmission at a community level.
He also dwelt on ways to treat suspect or mild person (s) at home.
It might be mentioned that besides the 14 days quarantine period, quarantining for another 14 days is mandatory at a village level in Ukhrul.
He also said that any COVID-19 suspect (s) or asymptomatic person (s) must be kept in an isolation ward and allows minimum visitors to avoid maximum contact.
In case of travelling with suspected persons, wearing protective gears is a must for all, he said and urged all to follow the basic safety rules such as wearing a mask, frequently using hand sanitiser and maintaining a safe distance to ward off the novel virus.
Dr Soreingam also suggested the public consume foods which are rich in vitamin C and D and zinc and drink hot water to strengthen one's immune system.
Meanwhile, wife of Work Minister, Junreiwon donated 300 PPE kits, sprayers and cash assistance to TCFC-19, Ukhrul.
The awareness programme was also attended headmen, chairmen, local leaders and women leaders of the village.
The campaign was jointly organized by ATMA and TCFC-19 at TNL Hall Wino Bazar, Ukhrul.
