Winter workshop on "Manipuri Dance" concludes

Imphal, January 12 2025: The 20 days winter workshop on "Manipuri Dance" organised by Lianda Folk and Classical Academy, Nagamapal Soram Leirak concluded today at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA), Imphal.

The valedictory function was attended by G Dharmadas Sharma, Deputy Director, Department of Art & Culture; Dr Lamabam Gojendro, State Kala Akademi Awardee and Dr Adhikarimayum Radhamanbi Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Dance & Music, Manipur University as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, G Dharmadas said, "Manipur has a rich repository of traditions and arts.

The State is best introduced to the world through its rich performing arts & culture", he added.

He also called for collective effort to preserve & promote the rich art and culture of the land bestowed by forefathers who had very high ideals and creativity.

Workshop productions of "Lai Haraoba", "Maibi Jagoi", "Tanum", "Thougal Jagoi", "Mao Dance" and "Kabui Jagoi" were also presented during the event.
