Drone-bombing: Students protest against inaction of Centre, State

Students accompanied by their guardians staged a sit-in protest at Naohal Lai Laibung, Kakching Keithel today denouncing the inaction of the State and Central Government in the face of drone attacks by suspected Kuki militants that left a girl student injured.
The protest was organised by the All Kha Kanglei Students' Union (AKKSU) .
Speaking by the sideline of the sit-in protest, N Kalpana, convenor, Kakching Apunba Nupi Lup expressed frustration with the State Government for their inaction when drone attacks are taking lives of mothers and injuring students.
Questioning previous bold statements made by the Government, she asked how long the people have to wait until the administration takes action against the perpetrators.
During the protest demonstration, the gathering observed a two-minute silence to honour the martyrs who have laid down their lives in the conflict.
The protestors wielded many placards with messages such as "Save students' future", "Withdraw Central forces from Manipur", "Military drones in a public site is a serious war crime", "Declare Kukis who perpetrated drone attacks on Meitei civilians as international terrorists", "Implement NRC immediately", "Protection of life and property of common people is a must for Government" among others.
