Imphal, September 28 2009:
After launching the indefinite class boycott call, the three agitating students' bodies - AMSU, MSF, and KSA - have announced that they are ready to launch their second course agitation which includes paralyzing of government offices and development al works as the government is still diffident to fulfill their demands.
Defending their stance, a statement issued by the three students' bodies asserted that the launch of the agitation doesn't mean that the students' bodies are against any development in the state but to demonstrate that human lives are more important than anything.
Cautioning schools' authorities not to defy the boycott call of the students' unions, the statement warned that any violator will be dealt with seriously.
The student's bodies will close down such schools from the academic session 2010 .
The joint statement also vowed not to retract the steps till the demands of the people are achieved.
It also told the people not to think that the agitation may be withdrawn after a short time.
The students' bodies have also conveyed their preparedness to fight to the finish, in what they called the present 'tussle' (of the people and the government).
Stating that there is no point for reaching an agreement with the agitating students' bodies and the government, the statement urged all concerned to join the demand for the removal of Ibobi instead of making appeal to the students' bodies to withdraw the agitation.
It observed that the students may not only lose the academic year of 2009.The students could also be deprived of their studies till 2010 0r 2011 while attributing the cause to Ibobi.
It urged the people to consider the period of Ibobi as a 'dark period' .
Cautioning the people not to go on celebration spree amidst the tumultuous happening, the statement conveyed that the students' bodies may abruptly ban celebration of festival - except a few.
The statement calculated that CM Ibobi may faint at any public function in order to secure his government and his post like he did at the inauguration function of BT Flyover.
