Security measures beefed up at Jiribam border to prevent influx of migrants, illegal activities

Security measures at Inter-State border between Assam and Manipur have been improved to secure and guard the border from the influx of intruder and to minimise trading of illegal activities, said SP Jiribam police.
According to M Mubi Singh, SP, Jiribam, the district police, Jiribam and Commando personnel have been instructed to beef up security measures at the Jiribam border as per a directive of DGP, Manipur as well as to put strict vigil in place by conducting regular patrolling, effective checking of passengers travelling to Jiribam on train, entry of illegal immigrants via FCP gate and to increase presence of police along the interstate border including Jiri-Barak river waterways.
He also added that the police personnel are also instructed to keep sharp vigil round the clock and check all the vulnerable areas.
"Police beat system in Jiribam as well as biker patrol teams have also been revamped for effective patrolling and surveillance", Mubi added.
