Joy: India preserving terrorists in Manipur
Source: Hueiyen News Service

Imphal, August 25 2011: Insinuating on the number of terror acts propogated by the proscribed UG group NSCN-IM in the state, the Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh has been urged to revoke the ongoing peace talk and ceasefire agreement with NSCN-IM at the earliest, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi reported to the House today.

Giving reply to a calling attention motion of senior member, O Joy and MLA, RK Anand on the terror attack at Sangakpham, the CM told the house that the terror attack at Sangakpham Keithel on August 1 which claimed five lives ad injured seven others was carried out by the NSCN-IM.

Anthony Kamei who was killed in the attack was a cadre of the UG group and he had planted the IED in the Bajaj Scooter.

The case was investigated by a special investigation team of Heingang Police led by SI, M Meghachandra.

Anthony Kamei was 'Imphal Town Commander' of the party.

During the investigation an IRB personnel of 4th IRB called Janmolung Kamei of Khoupum village posted as escort of the Senapati ADC Chairman was also found to be involved in the terror attack at Sangakpham.

He was arrested from the Secretariat branch of SBI.

He had admitted his involvement in the terror act.

Apart from him another cadre of the party called Ajenlung Kamei who is the 'Loktak Area Commander' was also involved in the attack, the CM told.

The CM further told that there were reports from the villagers of Sadu Koireng the native village of Late Anthony that they were threatened by Ajenlung Kamei asking them not to disclose that Anthony was a cadre of NSCN-IM. The Home Minister and Prime Minister have been intimated of the recent terror acts of the NSCN-IM who killed SDO Kishan, attacks on ADC Members, MLAs and Wungnaoshung Keishing and the most recent terror attack at Sangakpham.

He said the party has become a terrorist group under the mask of initiating peace talk and maintaining ceasefire.

Centre has also accepted to ask NIA to investigate the terror attacks.

O Joy said that the Government of India who is talking of fighting and demolishing terrorists from the surface of the world is covering the terror acts of NSCN-IM from the rest of the world.

MLA, RK Anand said NSCN-IM cadres are roaming freely in the state even though their ceasefire agreement with the Centre is not extended in the state.
