Thoubal, August 19 2024: The Wangjing Gram Panchayat Apunba Club Organisation (WANGGPACO) in association with volunteers of Arambai Tenggol Unit 3 planted tree saplings at Wangjing Tekcham Leikai and Wangjing Heitupokpi Leikai.

The tree plantation drive was carried out in continuation of WANGGPACO's ongoing campaign of planting tree saplings in all areas under its jurisdiction.

In this connection Tekcham Subol, advisor of WANGGPACO, said that in collaboration with AT Unit 3, the Club had previously conducted tree plantation drives at Wangjing and Kairembikhok with the help of other like-minded social workers from the area on August 4 and 11 .

He urged people to inculcate the habit of planting tree saplings.

Further appealed to the State Government to make sure that the tree saplings planted throughout the year are well-maintained to ensure their survival.

Naorem Iboyaima, general secretary, WANGGPACO and Soibam Mahesh, player, Boxing Academy were also present at the drive.

While Boxing Academy provided monetary aid for the drive, meira paibis from the vicinity of Wangjing Tekcham Leikai Power Station brought refreshments for the volunteers.

Moreover, social workers Kshetrimayum Priyobarta, Shaikhom Premjit, Dr Narengbam Rajivkumar and Yumnam Shamo also extended monetary aid.
