Bomb attacks on Congress and NCP workers

Bomb attacks on Congress workers still continue unabated even as tight security arrangements have been made by the state Home department, in connection with the upcoming Assembly polls.
As has been happening on a daily basis for some days now, a bomb was found planted near the Kha Imphal Bridge on the eastern side of the Nambul river by unidentified miscreants this morning at around 10.The location where the bomb was planted was just 100 metres away from the residence of Speaker I Hemochandra, who is a candidate of the INC in the Singjamei A/C.The bomb was later recovered by a team of bomb experts of Manipur Police, after they were informed by the locals.
Meanwhile, even the workers of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have not been..spared this time, as a hand grenade was hurled by unidentified miscreants at the house of an NCP worker today where it exploded.
Luckily no one was injured in the act.
The bomb explosion took place at around 3 this evening at the house of one Kongkham Robindro s/o late K Ibobi of Bamon Kampu Maning Leikai.
He is a worker of NCP candidate of Kshetrigao A/C, Th Nandakishore.
In another incident, unidentified miscreants have hurled a bomb near the office of Wangjing Block Congress Committee, near Wangjing Keithel yesterday at around 7:30 pm.
No one was reported to be hurt even as the bomb exploded.
There are also reports that unidentified persons have hurled a bomb at the house of one Lourembam Jiten of Khekman Lairembi Leikai in the morning of January 17 last.
The bomb was later retrieved by the police.
In yet another case, unidentified gunmen fired around 5/6 rounds of shots at the gate of L Tilotama, Sercretary, MPCC, at Liwa Road, Chanam Pukhri Mapal yesterday evening at around 6:10.None was hurt in the incident.
