Manipur peaceful under BJP-led Govt: Rijiju
Source: Chronicle News Service

Bishnupur/Imphal, February 13 2022: Claiming that the state suffered from many problems during the rule of the erstwhile Congress government, Union minister for law and justice Kiren Rijiju has stated that under the present BJP-led government Manipur has encountered no such issues.

Speaking as chief guest during a political conference organised by BJP Oinam Mandal as part of election campaign of BJP candidate from Oinam assembly constituency Laishram Radhakishore at Keinou Thongkhong community hall on Sunday, Kiren informed that as Manipur has huge talent in sports, the Narendra Modi government dedicated the National Sports University to the people of the state in honour and recognition of their excellence.

There is no dispute on land and in the coming 5-6 years the construction of the varsity will be completed, he assured.

Kiren Rijiju maintained that earlier governments in Manipur indulged in divide and rule policy which is why the state remained underdeveloped and there was communal tension.

He also promised that the state will receive 100 per cent of all centrally sponsored schemes and appealed to the people to vote for BJP for a better future of the state.

In his address, Radhakishore noted that with people keen to see return of the BJP government many intending candidates vied for the party's ticket.

However, as the ticket cannot be allotted to everybody, intending candidates should not get disappointed, he said urged the voters to help BJP win comprehensively in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election for bringing development in the state.

The conference was also attended by BJP Oinam Mandal president Th Mangi Singh as president and BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi as guest of honour along with other BJP leaders.

Meanwhile, Union minister Kiren Rijiju attended a reception programme held at the residence of BJP candidate in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC Sagolsem Kebi at Ningthemcha Karong on Saturday.

Speaking at the event, Kiren claimed that the state moved towards development after the coming of BJP government in the state.

Earlier, Manipur faced various issues, but with the formation of BJP government led by chief minister N Biren the state has seen much development.

The issues plaguing the state earlier were due to misgovernance by the previous governments, he contended.

Kiren Rijiju conveyed that the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken up numerous developmental works for the North East region.

Thus, people should elect BJP candidates to continue having a BJP government in the state.

The programme was also attended by BJP Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Mandal president Y Birendra, BJP Mahila Morcha president Manorama, BJP candidate S Kebi and other BJP workers.

The Union minister also said that Manipur has developed significantly in the past five years since the coming of BJP government both at the Centre and the state.

Speaking at the flag hoisting ceremony of BJP candidate in Mayang Imphal AC Kongkham Robindro at the latter's Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai residence, Kiren attributed development seen in the state to formation of the BJP led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and CM Biren-headed government in the state.

Manipur is one significant states of the North East and players of the state brought laurels for the country on numerous occasion but bandh and blockade crippled lives of the people for several decades.

However, bandh/blockade culture has ended now since the coming of BJP government and the state is now moving towards the path of speedy development, he said adding that BJP government has been able to bring people of hills and valley of the state closer.

According to Kiren Rijiju, Congress government in the past was known for fake encounter and insurgency related violence but there has been no such news and relation between public and police have improved significantly since the coming of BJP government in the state.

Chief minister N Biren Singh, who also attended the flag hoisting ceremony, said forefathers of the land called Manipur 'Sanaleibak' and BJP is committed to bringing the real 'Sanaleibak' in Manipur if people hand power again.

He then called upon people to uproot Congress party from Manipur while maintaining that Congress party tortured people of the state like animal.

He also said that BJP would secure mere than 40 seats in the upcoming election and form government again.

In his speech, K Robindro said he will never betray trust of the Mayang Imphal people and will take up plans to enhance economy people of the constituency.

He also promised to provide drinking water to every household of the constituency by 2023 .
