Vania Chawang crowned Orange Queen 2015

Tamenglong, December 10 2015: Vania Chawang has been crowned "Miss Orange Queen-2015" in the 12th Edition of State Level Orange Festival of Orange Queen contest held at Lower Ground in Tamenglong District Headquarters on Wednesday.

Vania secured 43.5 points in the contest.

Soraisam Devajani secured 40 points and was placed as the first runner up.

Second runner up Sylvia Kamei secured 38.5.The three were chosen out of the 21 contestants who participated in the Orange Queen Contest-2015 .

The Orange Queen-2015 top prize, a cash award of Rs One Lakh was sponsored by Angam Pamei, Special Contractor of Thangal village, under Khoupum Sub- Division.

Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong M Luikham handed over the cash to the Orange Queen.

The first runner up prize was sponsored by Adai Phaomei, Special Contractor of Mukti Village under Nungba Police Station with the cash award of Rs 75,000.The amount was handed over by Namsinrei, Chairman ADC Tamenglong .

The second runner up prize was sponsored by Coastal Company Khongsang, Patil Engineering Ltd.

Raengkhung, Sushu Infrastructure Awangkhul, Tribeni Company of Awangkhul and ECI Company of Noney with cash Award of Rs 50,000.The amount was handed over by KG Daigong, SDO/BDO Khoupum.

Meanwhile, Miss Orange Queen 2015 donated a sum of Rs 20,000 to the orange growers for the promotion of orange plantations.

While addressing the audience after winning the beauty crown, Vania Chawang appealed, "Let us be clear enough to be clean and genuine.

This way we can achieve the objective of Orange festival theme - peace and prosperity and as human we should have good hearts and only then we can promote peace and unity in our community.

As Orange Queen today, I would also like to help the orange growers/farmers in ways I can, may be for raising fund, anything they want me to do, if there is any need, I am ready to help" .

Ten semi finalists who were listed for the crown included Syliva Kamson (contestant No.2); Lungailiu Pamei (contestant No.3); Strela Thounaojam contestant No.7; Vania Chawang (contestant No.8); Soraisam Devajani (contestant No.12); Sangita Thiyam (contestant No.16); Toijam Jayatek (contestant No.17); Gaichareiliu Pamei (contestant No.18); TD Lilim Chiru (contestant No.19) and Epeiwangle Pame (contestant No.21). The eight subtitle winners are Miss Talented Vania Chawang (contestant No.8); Miss Beautiful Skin Toijam Jayatek (contestant No.17); Miss Beautiful Eyes Gaidchoreiliu Pamei (contestant No.18); Miss Beautiful hair Deeksha Bachaspati Mayum (contestant No.6); Best catwalk Sangita Thiyam (contestant No.16); Miss photogenic Nameirakpam Manjulika (contestant No.20); Miss congeniality Soraisam Devajini (contestant No.12); Beautiful Smile Epeiwangle Pame (contestant No.21) and Best designer Joy Moirang Mayum (contestant No.1) .
