Kakching, June 09 2024:
Accusing Registrar of Co-Operative Society officials of being involved in unscrupulous practices, K Manihar, Board Member of Manipur State Cooperative Bank Limited, has vowed to resign from his post at MSCB as well as from positions in other committees.
Addressing a press conference at Sekmaijin Khunou under Kakching district today, K Manihar asserted that the National Cooperative Development Operation (NCDC) had provided funds amounting to Rs 40 crore to the Registrar of Co-Operative Society under the State Department of Co-Operation for various developmental projects in four valley districts of Manipur, most prominently for the welfare of fisherfolks.
At this juncture, K Manihar accused Registrar of Co-Operative Society officials of collaborating with certain societies to pocket more money instead of working honestly to improve the condition of fisherfolks and increase fish yield in the State.
When complaints were raised to the relevant authority on this matter, K Manihar alleged that unidentified armed men were hired to issue threats to the complainants.
In view of such circumstances, K Manihar asserted that he will resign from his position as Board Member of MSCB and let go of his positions in other committees.
