'Rotary-On-Spot Painting Competition' held

Imphal, September 01 2024: The "49th Rotary on the Spot Painting Competition 2024", as part of the vocational service of Rotary Club of Imphal, was organised today at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri.

The painting competition was organised in two groups namely, Group-A (Class III-VI) on the theme 'Go Green, Breathe Clean' and Group-B (Class VII to X) on the theme 'Healthy Mind' .

A total of 172 school students from 20 schools participated in the annual painting competitions, said a release issued by Rotary Club of Imphal.

Kh Joy Meitei of Wangkhei High School, Kh Chandra Meitei of Wangkhei High School and L Henthoibi Chanu of Heritage Convent secured first, second and third positions respectively while S Purel Mangang of St George School, Leepun Ningthemcha of Maria Montessori Sr Sec School and Thiyam Roshita Devi of Ninnalabas School won the consolation prize in Group-A category.

Seram Jairaj Meitei of Nongpok Maheikol, Lily Rose Mariya Tamang of Maria Montessori Sr Sec School, Phudam Sinam of Rama Krishna Mission secured first, second and third positions respectively while Sapam Deepa Devi of KVS Lamphel, Sanjana Rai of DAV Public School and P Deepak Singh of Maria Montessori Sr Sec School won the consolation prize in Group-B category.

Rotary Club of Imphal has been organising a painting competition every year for school children to motivate young students and help them in developing their creative talents.

Painting is a way for school students to do many things such as conveying ideas, express emotion, use their senses, explore colour, explore process and outcomes and create aesthetically pleasing works and experiences.

The prizes for winners will be distributed in one of the annual functions of the club at a later date.
