State logs one death, 25 fresh cases

Imphal, February 28 2022:
Government bulletins on Monday reported 25 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 904 samples tested, thus, registering a positivity rate of 2.77 per cent against 2.76 per cent recorded on Sunday.
One death case was also reported on Monday which took the total number of fatalities to 2112 .
The victim was an unvaccinated resident of Imphal East district.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 189 vaccinated people of which 59 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 41 patients were discharged from home isolation (25), RIMS (5), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (6) .
The active case came down to 322 out of which 153 (47.52 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 279 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 90 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, six did not report any fresh Covid cases on Monday.
So far, the state has recorded 10,995 positive cases and 110 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3527 new positive cases and 66 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 277 and 11 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 25 fresh cases (14 male & 11 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (23) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (7), Imphal West (5), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (2), Ukhrul (1), Noney (3) and Churachandpur (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,783 (general population -1,31,774 and CAPF personnel - 5,009) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,349 (general population - 1,29,360 and CAPF personnel - 4,989) and number of active cases is 322 (general population - 309 and CAPF personnel - 13).The recovery rate is 98.22 per cent.
A total of 176 D-type and 12 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 935 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,10,771, out of which 11,36,836 had received second doses and 59,213 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are ImphalWest (48,608), Imphal East (30,377), Thoubal (10,120), Churachandpur (11,037), Kangpokpi (3119), Tamenglong (3467), Bishnupur (9800), Senapati (2477), Ukhrul (3256), Kakching (686S), Chandel (2701), Noney (1154), Tengnoupal (1193), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are ImphalWest (702), Imphal East (510), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,081 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,606 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,07,259 tests per million population against the national average of 5,47,240 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate came down to 8.69 per cent.
