RIMS clarifies on selection of PG candidates

While reacting to a news report published in local dailies, the media advisor of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has clarified that the selection of PG candidates for the institute is done by the state government and RIMS authority has nothing to do in the selection process.
The role of the RIMS authority is only to verify the relevant documents for permitting the candidates to appear in the selection test, the media advisor said in a statement.
The two doctors of JNIMS who were selected for admission were sponsored by the Manipur government.
In this regard, RIMS has no say or role to play, the statement added.
On the other hand, the non-Teaching Employees Welfare Association of RIMS has strongly condemned the delivery of a bomb parcel to the Emergency services counter in the night of February 26 by two unknown persons.
A press statement issued by Y Basanta, President of the Association informed that a meeting of the Association was held on Monday to take stock of the situation.
While reminding all concerned that Hospital is a place for treating patients including those who are injured in accidents, the meeting also appealed to all concerned not to vitiate the hospital atmosphere in such manner.
