Thoubal, October 09 2020:
Joint Committee On People's Welfare, Yairipok ( JCPWY ) has asked the State Government and department concerned to resume emergency medical services at Community Health Center (CHC) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) at Yairipok by October 16 .
JCPWY is a conglomerate of 16 clubs based in Yairipok.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held today at the hall of Bamon Leikai Youth Club, Yairipok (BYCY), JCPWY's Vice president Khomdram Prafullo Singh stated that different agitations, including shutting down of OPD will be launched if the demand is not entertained.
Unavailability of emergency service pairs with a shortage of staff at PHC-Yambem, PHC- Khoirom, PHC-Nongpok Sekmai, PHC-Charangpat and CHC-Yairipok are inconveniencing people of Yairipok and surrounding areas who seek medical attention, he added.
People expect much from CHC, Yairipok, but the hospital has only 2 doctors now, he said and asserted that handling a health centre by just 2 doctors is not possible.
A gynaecologist whose posting order at the CHC, Yairipok was issued on September 4, 2020, is also not joining the hospital till date, he said and urged the State Government and department concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
Further reminding all concerned to resume the emergency service of CHC and PHCs in Yairipok, Prafullo warned of launching intense agitations from the coming October 17, if the Government and department concerned ignored the demand.
