Imp/Bpr/Tbl, November 26 2021: BJP National president Jagat Prakash Nadda has asserted that the N Biren-led State Government has been deli-vering benefits of different Government schemes to the doorsteps of each and every household whereas the previous Government deli-vered bandhs and blockade to the masses.

JP Nadda was speaking at the inaugural function of the State Government's Go to Village 2.0 for Bishnupur district held today at Ngaikhong Khunou ground.

The programme which was organised by District Administration, Bishnupur will continue till November 28.Around 68 stalls from 33 departments including banks had been set up at the venue to provide services to the people of the district.

The BJP National president said that the Go to Village Mission was an initiative of Chief Minister N Biren Singh led Government to ensure delivery of services and benefits of welfare schemes at the people's doorstep.

The State Government's initiative to ease difficulties and inconveniences faced by common people due to illiteracy, lack of proper knowledge about different welfare schemes and inability to go to Government offices frequently deserves widespread appreciation, Nadda said.

Noting that more than 37,000 people had registered under the Go to Village campaign and thus availed benefits of different schemes, the BJP National president hailed the State Government's initiative as a very innovative one.

Five years back, the previous Government was delivering bandhs and block- ades while the incumbent Government has been delivering services and benefits of welfare schemes to the people's doorstep, he said.

Later in the afternoon, JP Nadda paid a visit to the Khongjom War Memorial Complex and paid tributes to the heroes and martyrs of the Khongjom War.

JP Nadda was accompanied by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda and Chief Minister N Biren.

Later, speaking at a public rally held at Khongjom Ground, JP Nadda remarked that many changes can be seen in Manipur today following installation of the BJP-led Government.

Unlike the previous Governments, the BJP Govern- ment led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been successfully delivering several welfare schemes to the masses, he said.

Claiming that BJP is a party which is always true to its words, he asserted that BJP has fostered a close relationship between the Government and the public.

He went on to say that the distrust which once existed among different communities of the State is slowly disappearing.

JP Nadda then appealed to all the people to support the BJP-led Government.

Power Minister Th Biswajit, many BJP MLAs, intending candidates, BJP office bearers and a number of BJP supporters attended the rally.

Speaking at the Ngaikhong Khunou function, Chief Minister N Biren stated that the Go to Village mission was introduced to ensure the benefits, of different schemes taken up under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reach its targeted beneficiaries.

He continued that the Central Government, taking note of the hardship faced by many citizens of the country during the COVID-19 pandemic, had decided to extend distribution of free ration under the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMKGAY) till March, 2022.Mentioning the various welfare schemes introduced by the Central Government, Biren stated that the State Government had earlier introduced the Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) scheme for those who are not in the Socio-Economic Caste Census and cannot avail the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

He continued that eligible people could now avail the benefit of free treatment of certain diseases up to Rs two lakh and Rs five lakh under CMHT and Ayushman Bharat respectively.

He also stressed that the Go to Village Mission would ease the hardships faced by people in availing benefits of several welfare schemes as they need not go to different offices to avail the benefits.

The Chief Minister maintained that the State had witnessed development in different sectors including roads, water supply, health and education among others in the last four years and a half.

The aged old bonding between hill and valley people had revived, he added.

He appealed to the people of the district to avail maximum benefits from the programme by visiting each stall and gathering information of different schemes.

He further announced that the Youth Affairs and Sports Department is in process to improve the infrastructure of Ngaikhong Khunou Playground.

During the programme, benefits under different welfare schemes including CMHT cards, hearing aids, free ration under PMGKAY, smartphones under Chief Minister's College Maheiroi e-Support Scheme, LPG connections under Ujjwala scheme, Old Aged Pension and Widow Pension schemes, among others, were distributed to the beneficiaries.

BJP National president Jagat Prakash Nadda, Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik, Works Minister Th Biswajit, Education Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen, Agriculture Minister Oinam Lukhoi, CAF&PD Minister Thokchom Satyabrata, Assam's Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Ashok Singhal, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha Leishemba Sanajaoba, MLAs, Pradhans, Members of Zilla Parishads, Administrative Secretaries and other officials of Government of Manipur attended the programme.
