A three month free coaching class organised by the Directorate of Education (Schools) under the theme "Quality Education for All" has been opened at TG Higher Secondary School here today.
The opening function of the coaching class was attended by Education Minister L Jayantakumar, Chairman of the Manipur Pollution Control Board E Dwijamani and Secretary of Education (S) Sunderlal as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
The coaching class is specially organised for students reading in class VIII to X in Government schools.
Classes will commence from April 28 from 6 am to 9 pm and everyday excepting Sundays and general holidays at TG Higher Secondary School for girls and Johnstone Higher Secondary School for boys.
For the coaching class in Science, Mathematics and English subjects, 350 students have submitted their application forms.
Speaking at the opening function, Education Minister L Jayantakumar said that there is no such thing as dull students or naughty children.
It all depends on how they are guided and groomed, asserted the Minister.
Claiming that the Government is working hard to provide quality education to students reading in Government schools, he called upon parents, teachers and students to make a sincere, collective effort to generate healthy competition among Government schools.
During the opening function of the free coaching class, prizes were distributed to winners of the State Talent Search Examination 2007-08 .
