Imphal, June 19: Six organisations behind the general strike which took the state by storm over the cease-fire extension in the last three days have categorically given 24 hours from 6 pm of June 19, for the MPs and MLAs of the state to resign from their respective membership of Parliament and state Assembly declaring that the people are now prepared for a �civil war� with much more bigger intensity than the June 18 uprising.

The organisation have also declared the time before the shradha of those who laid down their lives during yesterday�s uprising, as state mourning, urging all sections to refrain from all sorts of entertainment including festivals.

Expressing gratitude to the people for maintaining communal harmony despite the Center�s provocation, and fighting for the territorial integrity of the state, a joint statement of the AMSU, AMUCO, IPSA, AMKIL, MPCO and UPF said, the tension is against mounting in the state with the imposition of indefinite curfew in Imphal area under the instruction of the Union Home ministry.

The organisations also appealed to the meira paibi and Club/organisations to open up relief camps at their respective localities to assist those hit by the curfew at this time of the crisis.

It also appealed to the under ground organizations not to take undue advantage of the prevailing situation and asked to refrain from attacking �those security forces protecting us�.

It also strongly condemned the attack on the Singjamei police OC yesterday in the wake of the death 13 persons during the people�s uprising.

Pointing out that the state has lost three times the size of the present valley to the neighbouring Burma (now Myanmar) following the merger of the Indian union; it said the state has since lost another 29 square kilometers without a trace.
