Imphal, October 10 2021: Acknowledging the visible sign of improvement in governance, particularly on the law and order front, BJP National president JP Nadda today said that ever since the BJP led Government came to power at Imphal, bandhs and blockades have become a thing of the past.

Today, Manipur is poised to play a major role in India's path to progress, he added.

The BJP National president said this while inaugurating the newly opened new office of the saffron party at Nityaipat Chuthek.

JP Nadda also virtually inaugurated the newly constructed office of the party at Thoubal and Bishnupur district.

Former Union Minister and former president of the State unit of the BJP, Th Chaoba handed over the patta of the land where the office of the BJP stands at Nityaipat Chuthek to mark the day.

Chief Minister N Biren, State unit president of the BJP A Sharda Devi, Union Minister for Forest and Environment Bhupendra Yadav, Union MoS for Education and External Affairs RK Ranjan , Union MoS Pratima Bhaumik, RS MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, Urban Development Minister in Assam Ashok Singhal, BJP general secretary in charge of North East Ajay Jamwal, in charge of Manipur Sambit Patra, Works and IPR Minister Th Biswajit, general secretary and in charge of Manipur and Nagaland Abey Kumar Giri and former president of State BJP unit Th Chaoba were present at the function.

Continuing his address, JP Nadda said that ever since the BJP came to power in 2014 and again in 2019, India has been put on the track of development.

The Centre has been focusing on the North East and Manipur and has been investing resources and attention for the development of the region, said Nadda.

He added that the law and order situation in Manipur has improved tremendously ever since the Biren led Government came to power at Imphal.

Chief Minister N Biren has also been successfully implementing the numerous welfare schemes announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the result is there for all to see, he added.

Turning his attention to the newly inaugurated BJP office, Nadda said that the office christened Thambal Shanglen, should be more than an office.

It should be a centre where welfare measures of the people are born and given shape, said Nadda and added that there is the need to establish an office of the BJP in all the districts of Manipur.

Issuing a clarion call, the National president of the BJP urged the gathering to ensure that the BJP returns to power after the next Assembly election so that the interests of the people can be taken care of.

Expressing deep satisfaction over the opening of the new BJP office, Chief Minister N Biren said that the saffron party is for all and added it does not discriminate and is for the welfare of the people.

Urging all to ensure that the BJP secures absolute majority in the 2022 Assembly elections the Chief Minister said that in a span of four and half years, the Lotus has bloomed all over the place.

The Chief Minister also urged all the intending BJP candidates as well as the sitting MLAs to go to each household and ensure that the various schemes of the Prime Minister and the State Government have reached them.

In case any family has not received the benefits then all must endeavour to ensure that it reaches them, added the Chief Minister.

State BJP president A Sharda Devi acknowledged the efforts taken up by the then State BJP president Th Chaoba and his team to start the spadework for the office to come up.

She also acknowledged the immense efforts of Works Minister Th Biswajit and former treasurer of the BJP Robin Blackie in ensuring that the office sees the light of day.

A Sharda Devi also appealed to all the BJP workers to ensure that the party returns to power with a thumping majority after the 2022 Assembly election.

Later JP Nadda addressed another programme City Convention Centre and informed that sanitary toilets for 2.60 families have been constructed under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which was initiated in 2014, 10 lakh bank accounts have been opened under Jan Dhan Yojana in the State, 1.56 lakh Manipuri families have been given gas connection, 3 lakh families of the State have been given LED bulbs and 1 lakh new electricity connections have been given in far flung villages of the State.

In addition to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has also introduced Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) to provide beneficiaries with cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals without making any payment, JP Nadda added.

The national president also lauded Chief Minister N Biren Singh and his Government for going beyond the conventional means in vaccinating people residing in remote places of the State by delivering drone technology to deliver medicine and vaccines.
