Imphal, August 07 2021: The State Government has resolved to lift curfew from the State after 21 days to maintain balance with livelihood and economic activities and instead adopt a micro containment zone approach.

According to an office memorandum issued by the Secretariat Health Department, the State will adopt a micro containment zone approach to control the Covid transmission in line with the Central Govt advisories.

The memorandum, however, failed to mention on what conditions areas will be declared a micro containment zone.

Gram Panchayats, villages authorities, local clubs etc will be utilised to ensure strict enforcement of micro containment zones and isolation of fresh cases.

The memorandum urged the people to obey Covid appropriate behaviour.

The State Cabinet, on the other hand, expressed gratitude to the Centre for deputing a multi disciplinary expert team to take stock of Covid situation in Manipur.

Manipur came under containment zone from April 29 and curfew and from July 18 it has been under total curfew.
