Imphal, December 30: A few hours after the shradh ceremony of a youth was conducted, the younger brother of the deceased was slain by unidentified gunmen at near bashikhong Primary Health Centre yesterday night.

The victim, 27 year old Oinam Biken son of O Modhu of Bashikhong was shot dead yesterday night while he was returning home after enjoying a Shuman Leela at Kyamgei mayai Leikai.

According to family sources, two unidentified youths came to enquire about Biken soon after he left to watch the play staged at Kyamgei Mayai Leikai Ideal Girls High School after the shradh ceremony of his brother.

Biken is said to be a small time contractor.

On being told that Biken was not at home the two youths reportedly took the victim�s elder brother Winan but was released after a short while.

The family sources further informed of hearing gun-shots at near the Primary Health Centre and on inquiry found Biken lying in a pool of blood.

Biken suffered two fatal bullet wounds on the head.

Even though Irilbung police station received the information of the killing at around midnight, security constraints compelled the security men to arrive this morning only to retrieve the body, informed sources said.

Biken�s body has been subsequently handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS morgue.

It may be recalled that another elder brother of Biken, O Dinan alias Laisha was a UNLF cadre who along with two others were slain in an incident on December 24 at a remote area of Churachandpur district.

The family members were informed of the death of Dinan and since the body could not be retrieved due to the inaccessible terrain, the last rites of the departed soul was held yesterday.
