Imphal, July 21 2012:
Chandel MLA St Nunghlung Victor has asked the Government to consult him and share due information before taking any development programmes in Chandel district.
Speaking to media persons at his Lamphel quarters this afternoon, Nunghlung Victor said that Chief Minister O Ibobi has intention to take up many development programmes in Chandel district.
He also appealed to the Council of Ministers, bureaucrats and subordinate staff to implement development programmes sincerely.
Being a border district neighbouring Myanmar, cross-border trade between the two countries pass through Chandel district.
As such, there is a need to install trade infrastructure at suitable places.
Observing that the Government's choice of Khudengthabi as dumping site for goods brought by train when railway line reaches Moreh is not appropriate, he appealed to the Government to find an alternative site.
He further stated that he would embark on an inspection tour to check if any development projects are being implemented in interior areas of Chandel district.
