Thoubal, October 24 2021: The Heirok Block Congress Committee (HBCC) has clarified that the committee has whatsoever no link with the alleged assault on Thoubal correspondent of Naharolgi Thoudang, Elangbam Rameshwar.

It also stated that HBCC is not involved in any violent events that occurred at Heirok Assembly Constituency lately.

Speaking to media persons, HBCC president Thokchon Ranjan also expressed sadness on the alleged assault on E Rameshwar by unknown miscreants.

Saying that HBCC has high regard for the media, he added that the attack might be carried out by avid readers of Naharolgi Thoudang 'for publishing biased news' .

He also expressed suspicion of the BJP hands in the incident.

Saying that peace will not prevail at Heirok if such episodes occur constantly, Ranjan urged the authorities concerned to look into the matter .

He further stated that many properties, including houses, latrines, vehicles, computer sets, were also destroyed at Heirok Part -II in today's incident.

The workers of HBCC and media persons reached out to the victims of the attack.
