Security Barrack inaugurated at RIMS

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, marked another milestone in strengthening its security infrastructure with the inauguration of Security Barrack No 3 today by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal in the presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
Addressing the gathering, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma emphasized the need for enhanced security at RIMS, leading to the inauguration of a new security barrack.
"The institute is also undertaking major infrastructure upgrades, including extended lighting for evening activities until 9 PM and a self-sustainable water supply with two large reservoirs- one doubling as a scenic mini lake.
Additionally, a proposed helipad aims to improve emergency transport", he added.
The Director asserted that with a strong focus on security and sustainability, RIMS is working towards a modem, well-protected medical campus by 2030, benefiting both the institution and the community.
Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma also reiterated RIMS' dedication to infrastructural development and the well-being of its staff, ensuring that security remains a top priority at the institute.
The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the barrack, followed by interactions with the security personnel.
The inaugural event was attended by Deputy Director (Admn), RIMS, Imphal, Principal of College of Nursing, HODs, Chief Account Officer cum Financial Advisor, staff, security personnel, and other dignitaries.
